Mike Doyle

Michael F. Doyle is a government affairs counselor at K&L Gates' Pittsburgh office, contributing to the firm's Public Policy and Law practice. Before joining K&L Gates, he served 14 terms as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 18th District, encompassing Pittsburgh and 53 surrounding communities in Allegheny County.

During his tenure in Congress, Doyle was an active member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, where he chaired the Communications and Technology Subcommittee and was a senior member of the Energy Subcommittee. He focused on advancing energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources to combat climate change. As chair of the Communications and Technology Subcommittee, he worked to provide all Americans with reliable, affordable high-speed broadband internet service and to restore net neutrality.

Doyle co-founded and co-chaired the House Robotics Caucus to ensure that the United States remains globally competitive in the field of robotics. He was also one of the founders of the Distributed Generation Caucus, promoting decentralized, efficient, and environmentally friendly power generation technologies. Additionally, he served as a member of the House Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Caucus. 

 

He founded and co-chaired the House Autism Caucus, also known as the Coalition for Autism Research and Education (C.A.R.E.), which significantly increased federal research and services for families with autistic children. 

 

In recognition of his work, Doyle was named a 2024 Top Lobbyist by the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics and was also recognized by The Hill as a Top Lobbyist in 2024. 

 

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University, earned in 1975.
