Jay Katarincic

Jay Katarincic is a Partner at Magarac Venture Partners (MVP), an early-stage venture capital firm based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He co-founded MVP alongside Mike Stubler, Zach Malone, and Will Allen.

Before establishing MVP, Jay was a Managing Director and Co-Founder of Draper Triangle Ventures, a Pittsburgh-based venture capital firm with offices in Columbus, Ohio, and Ann Arbor, Michigan. 

 

Throughout his career, Jay has held directorships at several companies, including Thread, StimDia, and Autobooks. He previously served as a Director at CardioInsight, Carnegie Learning, BodyMedia, BitArmor, DirectWorks, Amplifinity, and Acrobatiq.

Before transitioning into venture capital, Jay worked as an Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and served as Vice President of Corporate Development for a large privately-held diversified holding company. 

 

In addition to his professional roles, Jay is active in the community, serving on the boards of the Pittsburgh Technology Council, 3RiversConnect, and The Children’s Institute. He has also been a board member of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association and Shady Side Academy. 

 

Jay earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross and holds a JD/MSIA joint degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and the Carnegie Mellon University Graduate School of Industrial Administration.
